Building on its reputation for designing beautiful dream homes, Homes by Avi has done it again. The 2009 dream home is 2,283 sq. ft. of personality and sophistication. This year’s design features a main floor with a centrally-located spacious kitchen complete with 9 ft. island topped in granite and equipped with a farmhouse-style apron front stainless steel sink. Cleverly tucked opposite the island are built-in cabinets and shelving for the executive entertainer’s tools and accessories. The kitchen hub is flanked by a butler’s pantry boasting a built-in cappuccino maker and wine fridge, and opens to a roomy formal dining room with custome stainless steel ceiling. The kitchen’s oak flat-slab cabinets are stained in ebony and serve as a dramatic backdrop to the mosaic tile backsplash and custom stainless steel hoodfan. A large great room, flex room and mud room balance out the main floor. 

The spacious master bedroom engages the visitor  with a spa-inspired ensuite bathroom with free-standing tub, and wall-mounted faucets over  double sinks. In addition to two other bedrooms, the second floor is home to a built-in tech centre and conveniently located laundry room. 

The interior finishing in this dream home smartly pairs clean design with an executive feel. Flooring throughout the kitchen and entryways includes an 18x18” glossy tile punctuated by a 6x 24” ceramic tile with a natural wood appearance in surrounding rooms. A low shag carpet in earth tone lends to the cozy feel of the second floor.  

The home’s exterior is a craftsman style elevation dressed in James Hardie siding and cedar shake accents with double detached garage. The permanent location for this year’s dream home will be in Genstar's new community of Walden, just south of Lake Chaparral adjacent to the Bow River Valley.
