Ground Breaking Ceremony - “Built With Bear Hands- Homes That Build Hope 4/5/2005
On Tuesday, April 5th 2005, Homes by Avi and Montorio Homes celebrated their ground breaking ceremony for a unique fundraising project. The proceeds from the sale of two homes to be built in Lakeland Ridge at 137 and 133 Cornwall Road will be donated to the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation.
Health Minister Iris Evans, Cathy Olesen, Mayor of Sherwood Park, Dianne Young, President & CEO of the Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation, Avi Amir, President of Homes by Avi, and Martino Diluigi, General Manager for Montorio Homes, were on hand to officially launch this much anticipated, unique fundraising project.
This is the next chapter of an ongoing partnership between Homes by Avi, Montorio Homes and the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation. These are not lottery homes rather the homes will be available for sale on the open market with proceeds benefiting the Stollery Children’s Hospital. The homes will be open for viewing on September 2005, and will be sold with a November occupancy date.
The Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation is committed to enhancing health services for children in one of the largest geographic regions in the world. More than 80,000 patient visits happen at the Stollery Children’s Hospital each year and the number of children needing care is escalating. Much of the work at this top rated hospital is cutting edge – literally the difference between life and death and all of this in our very own backyard.
