Great Prizes for This Year’s Great Stampede Lotteries 6/21/2005
Calgary, AB – Just when you thought the prizes couldn’t get better, they do. Valued at over $1.2 million, the line-up of prizes for the Lions Pot O’ Gold, Rotary Dream Home and Kinsmen Wheels were put on display today by the Great Stampede Lotteries committee of the Calgary Stampede. With a spectacular Homes by Avi creation as the Rotary Dream Home, a hot new sports car as part of the array of vehicles through Kinsmen Wheels, and two Money Booths adding to the winning with the Lions Pot O’ Gold, this year’s Great Stampede.
The 2005 Rotary Dream Home is the tenth one to be designed and built by Homes by Avi. This one of a kind 2,275 square-foot, two-story, three-bedroom home features hickory hardwood floors, 10-foot ceilings, an open style kitchen with Caesar stone countertops and stainless steel appliances. The master suite includes a luxurious ensuite with two-person tub and a custom designed shower with multiple massage heads. The home’s permanent location will be a corner lot in Evergreen Estates and the prize packages includes a home entertainment system with wall-mounted plasma television, one-year’s homeowner insurance from Bow Valley Insurance and move-in assistance from AMJ Campbell Van Lines. The total prize package is valued at over $525,000.
“Over 21,000 hours of time is donated by volunteer ticket sellers each year during Stampede,” said Marilyn Dixon, vice-chairman, Great Stampede Lotteries committee. “As a result, our service club partners, the Rotary Club of Calgary South, the North Hill Lions Club and the Kinsmen Club of Calgary, were able to contribute close to $700,000 from last year’s lottery proceeds to charities and projects in Southern Alberta. So many worthwhile groups benefit from the Great Stampede Lotteries.”
Tickets for the Rotary Dream Home, Kinsmen Wheels and the Lions Pot O’ Gold are available at one for $10.00, 20 for $20.00 and 100 for $50.00. In addition, the Kinsmen offer a Rainbow ticket where $100 will buy 20 tickets for each of the six Kinsmen Wheels lotteries – a $120.00 value. Tickets for all Stampede lotteries are available at booths in the Roundup Centre and throughout Stampede Park.
