Local builders conclude unique fundraiser with raffle draw 11/7/2005

November 4, 2005 Homes by Avi and Montorio Homes have concluded another building season, and another great fundraiser for the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Darlene Groten from the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation, Miles Kohan, Sales & Marketing Manager of Homes by Avi, and A.J. Vogelsang, Director of Marketing for Montorio Homes thanked the purchasers of the two homes. Proceeds from the sale of these homes will be donated to the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation.

“It was the last thing that (my) mom had mentioned before she passed away, that she wanted to take away the pain from kids,” says Brad McLellan, purchaser of the Homes by Avi house. “This was a small way that we could make this happen.”

Rhonda Hjorth from Mountain Park Lodges drew the two winners of the Passport Program raffle, Wayne & Darlene Collins won the grand prize -a trip with Air Canada to anywhere in North America, Caribbean, Mexico or Hawaii. Second prize - two nights accommodation at Mountain Park Lodges in Jasper plus use of a Petersen Pontiac Buick or GMC went to Cheryl Young.

Homes by Avi and Montorio Homes understand that community support is crucial if the Stollery Children’s Hospital is to maintain the best quality of pediatric health care in Alberta, and Western and Northern Canada.

The Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation enhances health services for children by raising money to support the Stollery Children’s Hospital and programs that support health, prevent disease and treat illness. Funding provided by the Foundation supports health services for children through education, research, special services and acquisition of equipment.
