Homes by Avi presents partnering Schools with over $50,000 cheque 5/11/2007
On Friday, May 11th Avi Amir, president and founder of Homes by Avi, toured students from partnering schools through the Stampede Rotary Dream Home. This is one of the many fieldtrips Homes by Avi makes available to the students every year, intended to provide the students with educational experiences in the home building industry. For over ten year Avi Amir and his team have provided Jack James High School, Bishop Kidd Junior High School and Ernest Morrow Junior High School with financial and personnel resources. Each year Homes by Avi donates a $12,500 to each of the Junior High Schools. The Homes by Avi/Jack James partnership evolved from a pilot project that took place in April and May of 1998. Its intention was to provide students with an overview of the residential construction industry and also to provide students with some direct experience on actual construction sites. The partnership’s goal is to provide an innovative program that both stimulates and inspires students. The partnership has enhanced several aspects of the curriculum at the school, and strives to create purposeful pathways for the students through their High School experience and into solid careers. Last years Jack James house was built at the school grounds and moved to McKenzie Towne, it was sold this past fall and today we are proud to present the school with a cheque for $26,000 representing a portion of the profit of this special home. Special Thanks to our contributing trades and suppliers who partcipate in this project every year.
