Homes by Avi's..."Be a Fan, Bring A Can" Food Drive 8/15/2008 3:10:36 PM
Edmonton – August 13th, 2008 - Homes by Avi is proud to announce their latest community fundraiser; a food drive in support of Edmonton’s Food Bank. Starting Saturday, August 16th Homes by Avi is collecting non-perishable food items at their head office and at all of their show home locations until Thursday, September 4th.
Your last opportunity to donate to this worthy cause is at the “Labour Day Classic Re-Match” game between the Edmonton Eskimos and the Calgary Stampeders on Friday, September 5th. This fundraiser is spearheaded by Homes by Avi volunteers who will be located at each of the entrance gates collecting non-perishable food items and cash donations.
The “Be a Fan, Bring a Can” fundraiser was started by the Calgary Stampeders 17 years ago. In 2007 their annual food drive raised an impressive $28,968.55 in cash and food donations and to date they have raised over $352,849 in cash and food donations. This year the “Be a Fan, Bring a Can” fundraiser is a province-wide campaign where Alberta’s two CFL teams and Homes by Avi have joined forces to help collect donations for their respective cities’ food banks. So “Be a Fan, Bring a Can” and show your Eskimo pride and help raise more donations than our rival city to the south.
